Reimbursement & TPT Payment Information
Precision-GI™ is eligible for Medicare Transitional Pass-Through (TPT) payment, when applicable. In support of healthcare providers, Limaca Medical offers a reimbursement pathway to Medicare’s Transitional Pass-Through (TPT) payment program for Precision-GI™.

Effective January 1, 2025, Precision‑GI™ was assigned a CMS Transitional Pass-Through (TPT) device category under the Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS).

The intent of this TPT program is to provide a temporary payment mechanism for the use of new technologies in addition to the procedural payment amount the hospital would otherwise receive.

This means that endoscopic ultrasound‑guided biopsy procedures using the Precision‑GI™ device in hospital outpatient or ASC settings will continue to receive from CMS the full reimbursement payment according to the existing CPT codes. In addition, they would be reimbursed according to the TPT C1738 code for the cost of Precision-GI™ with no need to pay for a manual device, thereby saving costs per case.
Hospitals and ASCs should report HCPCS code C1738, along with the appropriate procedure codes, to seek separate payment for Precision-GI™ in eligible cases.
